A representative from Anfield Stadium has addressed circulating rumors regarding Coldplay's potential UK tour stop in Liverpool. With the band currently in the midst of their 'Music of the Spheres' tour, which has recently achieved the status of the biggest rock tour of all time, speculation was fueled when a train arriving at Liverpool Lime Street station displayed a common phrase associated with Coldplay merchandise. The message read, "Everyone is an alien somewhere," reminiscent of their 2017 song 'Alien'. However, according to the Liverpool Echo, an insider confirmed that no discussions have taken place regarding a performance at Anfield, stating, "Not a single conversation has been had."
Coldplay recently announced several major stadium shows throughout the UK, including dates in London and Hull starting next August. Tickets for these shows are currently available for purchase. In addition to the UK dates, the band is set to return to Asia with concerts planned in Hong Kong, Seoul, Mumbai, and Abu Dhabi, among others. The upcoming tour dates are part of the promotional effort for their 10th album, 'Moon Music', set for release on October 4. This album, produced by Max Martin, will also be notable for featuring vinyl made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
