The Archdiocese of San Antonio has announced a part-time job opening for a Musician/Cantor. This position is ideal for individuals looking to contribute musically to church services, particularly during Saturday and Sunday masses, as well as special liturgical events such as weddings and funerals. The role requires less than 10 hours of commitment per week, which may vary as per the parish's needs.

The chosen candidate will report directly to the Pastor and is expected to provide musical support to create a prayerful environment during services. Musical skills, especially in piano, organ, or guitar, are essential, alongside the ability to sing accurately with good pitch and rhythm.

Key responsibilities include animating the Sunday Liturgy, assisting in securing other musicians, and committing to ongoing professional development in liturgical music. Attendance at required training events and parish staff meetings is also expected.

Applicants should possess a high school diploma, strong interpersonal skills, and, ideally, a bachelor’s degree in Music or Liturgy along with prior experience in Roman Catholic Liturgy. Bilingual candidates proficient in English and Spanish will be preferred.
