As I Lay Dying has announced their new album titled Through Storms Ahead, set to release on November 15, 2024, via Napalm Records. The band's eighth full-length studio album comes after five years since their last offering and promises to showcase their continuing evolution in the metalcore genre over a 25-year career. Notably, two singles have already been released, with the latest being We Are The Dead, featuring guest vocals from Alex Terrible of Slaughter To Prevail and Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin.
The announcement follows the debut of earlier tracks like Burden and The Cave We Fear To Enter, which have been well received and demonstrated the band's refined style. Throughout the album, the lineup includes guitarist Phil Sgrosso, vocalist Tim Lambesis, and recent additions Ryan Neff (bass, clean vocals), Nick Pierce (drums), and Ken Susi (guitar).
The single We Are The Dead presents a heavier sound, focusing on the band's thrashier tendencies while incorporating melodic elements. Accompanying the track is a music video that features all three vocalists, adding visual depth to the song's intensity. Phil Sgrosso described the track as exploring the "brutal territory" of their new material, with a significant emphasis on aggression.
Through Storms Ahead will consist of eleven tracks, including:
- Permanence
- A Broken Reflection
- Burden
- We Are The Dead (feat. Alex Terrible, Tom Barber)
- Whitewashed Tomb
- Through Storms Ahead
- The Void Within
- Strength To Survive
