Benefits have returned with their new single 'Land Of The Tyrants', marking their first release of 2024, following the success of their debut album 'Nails'. The track was released on September 17, 2024, and showcases the band’s evolution from their earlier sound while retaining their punk roots.

Comprising frontman Kingsley Hall and electronic specialist Robbie Major, Benefits has transformed into a two-piece outfit after a series of lineup changes. Hall expressed a desire to maintain the raw energy captured in 'Nails' but also to explore new musical dimensions. The new single boasts a '90s dance rhythm influenced by artists like Underworld and tackles themes of modern life frustrations and identity manipulation.

Production by electronic musician James Welsh has been pivotal to this new direction, while Arch Femmesis member Zera Tnin contributes guest vocals, providing a stark vocal hook that Hall found compelling after a memorable tour experience with the group.

In support of the single, Benefits are currently on a UK and European tour, including upcoming performances at Left Of The Dial festival. The band is also set to perform alongside Arab Strap at Glasgow's Barrowlands Ballroom on September 21. For those interested in catching Benefits live, tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Upcoming tour dates include shows in cities like Huddersfield, Edinburgh, and Liverpool, as well as notable festival appearances later in the year. For full details on their schedule, check out their official site.
