Billie Eilish's poignant track "When the Party's Over" serves as the closing soundtrack for a recent campaign advertisement by Vice President Kamala Harris, focusing on issues surrounding reproductive care. The ad, titled "Monster," follows the Harris endorsement from Eilish and her brother, Finneas, earlier in the week, in which they determinedly supported Harris's run for president.

In the advertisement, Hailey Duvall, an activist, recounts her harrowing experience of being raped and becoming pregnant at the age of 12, highlighting a critical moment in U.S. history concerning women's health rights. This narrative is underscored by Eilish's 2018 single, setting a somber tone that emphasizes the message of health access concerns following the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022. Prior to this change, the landmark decision had protected women's rights to abortion since 1973, but the recent reversal has led to significant restrictions in various states.

Eilish's insistence on utilizing her platform to advocate for these causes reflects her prior engagements in political activism. In 2020, she launched initiatives to encourage youth voting during the presidential election, urging engagement from her audience regarding critical issues such as reproductive rights and climate change. This alignment of musical artistry with social advocacy is becoming a defining aspect of Eilish's public persona.

Furthermore, she has been announced as one of the first performers for the upcoming season of Saturday Night Live, continuing her involvement in cultural and societal discussions.
