A new book titled The Haienda: Threads, set for release on October 10, 2024, is dedicated to the legendary Manchester nightclub, The Haienda. Compiled by Rebeca Hook, this publication dives deep into the music, fashion, and culture that shaped the club's iconic status, providing a unique insider perspective.

The book features firsthand accounts from notable figures such as Todd Terry, Noel Gallagher, Bez from the Happy Mondays, John Cooper Clarke, and many more. Peter Hook, a member of Joy Division and New Order, has contributed a foreword, drawing on his experiences at the venue he partly financed via Factory Records. The Haienda, operational from 1982 to 1997, was a focal point for the acid house movement in the late 1980s and played a crucial role in bringing underground club culture into the mainstream.

A special book launch event will occur on October 9 at the New Century Hall in Manchester. Fans can anticipate an engaging panel discussion featuring key figures instrumental in the Haienda's history, including Peter Hook, DJs Graeme Park and Greg Wilson, and more. After the panel, attendees will have the chance to purchase signed copies of the book while enjoying DJ sets from various notable artists including Peter Hook himself.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to three charities: AKT (formerly known as the Albert Kennedy Trust), Mind, and Sarcoma. Tickets for the launch event can be purchased here. The book is available for pre-order from Headline Publishing Group here.
