Clementine Douglas has released her new single, 'Slippin', which explores the theme of the arrival fallacy through a blend of soul, breakbeat, and R&B influences. Following her debut track 'Riddles' earlier this year, 'Slippin'' is characterized by soft keys, bubbling brass, and carefully placed breakbeat elements. This latest offering is both a sonic journey and a personal reflection for Douglas, who describes the track as a realization about expectations and the importance of living in the moment.
Douglas explains that the term arrival fallacy describes the feeling of achieving a goal only to find that the anticipated satisfaction does not materialize. She highlights this sentiment in the lyrics, turning it into a mantra for embracing her present circumstances.
To coincide with the release, Douglas has announced her headline live UK tour, kicking off this October. Her tour will include stops in Birmingham, Brighton, London, Manchester, and Glasgow, following successful performances at BBC Radio 1 Ibiza and Boardmasters Festival this summer.
'Slippin' is now available for streaming and purchase, and fans can buy tickets for her upcoming tour here. You can also explore more about her latest music endeavors through Mixmag’s coverage.
