Seattle-based rock band Deep Sea Diver has announced their signing with Sub Pop, marking a significant new chapter for the group. Led by guitarist and vocalist Jessica Dobson, the band shared that they aim to make their music accessible to a broader audience and explore new creative avenues. As part of this announcement, they released an official video for their new song "Billboard Heart," available now on YouTube.

"Billboard Heart" serves as the lead single from what will be their forthcoming album, set to drop in early 2025. The music video for the song was directed by Dobson, alongside her bandmate and partner Peter Mansen, with cinematography handled by Tyler Kalberg. The song is characterized as a rapturous and compelling introduction to Deep Sea Diver's evolving sound.

The band's previous work includes their 2020 album "Impossible Weight," which gained critical acclaim and charted on the Billboard rankings. Notably, "Impossible Weight" also featured guest vocals from Sharon Van Etten on its title track, as well as the song "Stop Pretending," which made NPR Music's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2020.

Deep Sea Diver has a history of collaboration and touring, having performed with renowned acts such as Death Cab for Cutie and Wilco, and recently opened for Pearl Jam on two occasions. As they head into this new phase with Sub Pop, fans can look forward to more genre-defying music from Dobson and her band.

In addition to their new single, Deep Sea Diver contributed a cover of Yo La Tengo's "Stockholm Syndrome" to the Every Possible Way benefit compilation, aimed at raising awareness for gun safety, which showcases the band's commitment to social issues.
