The Missouri Army National Guard is searching for creative individuals to join their band as Army Bandpersons. This opportunity allows music enthusiasts to turn their passion into a career, engaging in a diverse range of performances, from energetic marching ensembles to laid-back jazz groups.

As an Army Bandperson, you'll showcase your musical talents on various instruments, including tuba, trumpet, saxophone, and more. This position not only involves performing but also requires rehearsal, professionalism, and mastery of multiple musical styles, including classical, jazz, and popular music. Performances will range in scale, from entertaining solo acts to full concert band experiences.

Aside from performing, the role offers invaluable learning experiences, such as private instrumental instruction, music theory, and ear training. Candidates should be proficient in at least one instrument and display skills in tuning, transposition, and group techniques.

Individuals considering this job will also benefit from a structured training program consisting of 10 weeks of Basic Training, followed by up to 23 weeks of specialized training. Unlike traditional music education paths that can incur significant debt, joining the Army National Guard allows you to earn while you learn, receiving a regular paycheck as you develop your music-related skills.

This unique opportunity not only sets the stage for a fulfilling music career but also opens the door to collaborate with fellow musicians and perform in venues like nightclubs, theaters, and recording studios.
