FKA twigs has officially released the title track from her anticipated third studio album, 'EUSEXUA', which is set to launch on January 24, 2025, via Young Recordings. The new single was teased heavily on social media, where twigs engaged her fans by asking, "do you feel alone? you're not alone. EUSEXUA is coming."
The track, which reflects her experiences living in Prague, showcases a minimalist techno sound that aims to evoke a sense of euphoric transcendence, a feeling she describes with the term "eusexua"—a word she coined to capture that unique emotional state. Discussing the concept with Vogue earlier this year, twigs elaborated, "It's like when you've been kissing a lover for hours and turn into an amoeba with that person. You're not human anymore, you're just a feeling."
In a post on Instagram, twigs explained the journey of creating 'EUSEXUA', calling it her "opus" and emphasizing its significance in her artistic development: "EUSEXUA has been my practice for the years that it has been in creation. It is the pinnacle of human experience." This new single serves as her first solo output since 2022, and follows a collaborative effort with the electronic duo Two Shell earlier this year. Twigs' last studio album, 'MAGDALENE', was released in 2019.
