Jane's Addiction have announced a hiatus following a violent altercation that occurred during their concert in Boston on September 13. The band cut short their performance after frontman Perry Farrell was seen charging at guitarist Dave Navarro in a disturbing onstage incident that left the audience shocked.

In a statement released today, the band cited Farrell's ongoing mental health difficulties as a significant factor in their decision. Bassist Eric Avery, guitarist Navarro, and drummer Stephen Perkins expressed deep concern for both their safety and Farrell's health. They regretfully stated, “We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.”

Etty, Farrell's wife, previously described him as a "crazed beast" in her recount of the events, noting that there has been growing tension within the group. The band has officially canceled the remainder of their U.S. tour, issuing refund information for fans who purchased tickets.

This announcement follows the release of their recent single, "Imminent Redemption", marking the first project involving the original lineup in 34 years. The abrupt end to the tour comes as a significant setback for the band, which has had a turbulent history. The band members hope to find a path forward, prioritizing both their own health and the well-being of Farrell.
