Kilometre Club :: Earnest Tub (Imaginary North)
Kilometre Club has released an album that redefines electronic ambience by creating 103 short tracks, each around a minute long, merging the familiar with the innovative. The project, led by Daniel Field, is a nod to both electric ambience and punk roots, while intentionally designed with streaming algorithms in mind. The album draws inspiration from the legacy of country music star Ernest Tubb, although its sonic palette diverges significantly from typical country sounds. Field emphasizes that this music serves both as art and a product, aiming to secure its place in contemporary playlists. The album challenges conventional expectations of ambient music's length and style while still being anchored in human creativity rather than AI-generated sound.
