Mark Hoppus, the renowned vocalist and bassist of Blink-182, has announced his memoir titled Fahrenheit 182, which is set for release on April 8, 2025. The book aims to provide an in-depth look at Hoppus's life, chronicling his journey to fame with one of the most influential punk bands of his generation, as well as his personal challenges, including battles with anxiety, suicide ideation, and his experience with cancer.

In a promotional video shared on his Instagram, Hoppus describes the narrative as delving into darker themes, affirming, "This shit gets dark." According to his publisher, HarperCollins, the memoir captures Hoppus's adolescence in the 1980s as a latchkey kid influenced by punk rock, skateboarding, and MTV. It promises to be a mixture of humor, relatability, and raw honesty, illustrating his perseverance through difficulties, including his recent cancer diagnosis of 4-A diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Hoppus previously revealed his diagnosis in 2021 and, after a treatment regimen, shared that he is now cancer-free.

Speaking about the memoir in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hoppus referred to it as a combination of a music story intertwined with a medical journey, stating he initially hesitated to share his health struggles due to feelings of fear and vulnerability. He stated, "I didn't say anything about being sick for the longest time because I was so scared and overwhelmed by the whole thing."

The announcement of Fahrenheit 182 coincides with Blink-182's ongoing tour in North America, where they have received positive reviews for their performances, including a recent gig at Reading Festival.

Hoppus's memoir joins a growing list of artist autobiographies that aim to provide insights into their personal and professional lives, resonating with a wide audience of both fans and newcomers to the music scene.
