Mogwai has marked their return with a new single titled 'God Gets You Back', the band's first release of 2024. This Glasgow-based quartet's latest track emerges following their 2021 album, 'As The Love Continues', and the recent debut of their documentary, Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound, directed by Antony Crook, a long-time collaborator.
Barry Burns, a member of the band, revealed that the inspiration for the lyrics came from his seven-year-old daughter, who crafted the words for the song. Burns expressed the need for melody or vocals, which led to this adorable collaboration.
Along with the release of the single, Mogwai has announced a significant 2025 world tour. The tour will cover regions including Europe, Asia, and North America, kicking off in February 2025 in Amsterdam. The general ticket sale starts at 10am on September 20, with each ticket purchase contributing $1 to War Child, a charity dedicated to helping children affected by war.
