Oberlin College & Conservatory has announced a job opening for Student Recording Engineers. This position requires recording student, guest, and faculty recitals, managing sound reinforcement for jazz recitals, and assisting with large recording sessions, along with operating cameras for live-streaming concerts.

Candidates will need to be responsible, motivated, and attentive to detail. Ability to lift 50 lbs is necessary due to the physical requirements of handling audio equipment. The hours are flexible, depending on the concert and event schedule, with lighter hours at the start of the term and increasing as performances ramp up toward term's end.

Responsibilities include setting up and taking down audio equipment, providing recording and sound reinforcement services, and documenting and editing recordings. Candidates will assist the Director and Assistant Director with additional duties as required.

Qualified students should have a music background, strong technical and computer skills, and any audio engineering experience would be an asset. The position requires availability during evenings and weekends and attendance at weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 12:30 pm. This job is open exclusively to current Oberlin students, including freshmen.
