The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of La Crosse (UUF-LaX) is seeking applicants for the position of Music Director, which is a part-time role. Located at 401 West Avenue South, La Crosse, WI, the fellowship is looking for a candidate who can contribute to their music ministry.
The Music Director will be responsible for planning and providing music for services two Sundays per month, leading the choir, and providing accompaniment during worship services. The compensation for this position is set at $22.70 per hour, totaling approximately $3,632 a year, based on 16 hours of work each month from August to May.
Key responsibilities include directing choir rehearsals, selecting appropriate music, maintaining the fellowship’s music library, and collaborating with various members of the congregation and the Sunday Service & Music Team. The candidate will also be expected to possess the ability to play an instrument, particularly the piano.
Furthermore, it is essential for the Music Director to have prior experience in performing live music and working within a choir structure. While extensive knowledge of Unitarian Universalism isn’t a necessity at the time of hire, a commitment to understanding and embodying UU values through music is vital.
