Austin's indie punk trio Parker Woodland is set to release their latest album, There's No Such Thing As Time, reflecting a vibrant blend of joy and activism. The album, produced by Brent Baldwin—an established collaborator with notable acts such as Big Star and R.E.M.—tackles a range of significant social issues through their music.

The band’s lineup includes Erin Walter (vocals, bass), Andrew Solin (guitar), and Keri Cinquina (drums). Each member boasts extensive involvement in the Austin music scene, with a commitment to activism reflected in their work. The new album communicates messages of anti-racism, pro-LGBTQA+ rights, and overall social progressiveness, shaped by their experiences in the community.

One standout track from the album, "Benediction," serves as the final song and an emotional closure to the project. Walter described it as an acoustic piece constructed to highlight both painful and hopeful emotions. The lyricism encapsulates themes of resilience and togetherness, offering listeners a beacon of hope amidst darker realities. Walter noted, "We want to be a light in someone's day."

The challenging themes addressed in the album include climate change, war, and the struggle for trans rights in Texas, alongside creative explorations of fantastic elements like monsters overtaking the planet. Ultimately, There's No Such Thing As Time aims to resonate with those grappling with grief or inner turmoil, infusing a necessary dose of optimism in today's tumultuous climate.

With active participation in various local showcases, such as their performances at SXSW, Parker Woodland continues to solidify their presence within the indie punk landscape while inspiring others to join their pursuit of liberation and love.
