A unique opportunity has arisen for a part-time Music Contractor position at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson (JBER) in Anchorage, Alaska, through CRS. This role supports the music component of the parish on the military base, aiming to enhance worship services and community programs. The contractor will work closely with the Air Force and Navy Chaplain Corps to select appropriate music for Protestant services.

The position requires experience in various music genres, specifically contemporary, gospel, and traditional, reflecting the diverse musical tastes of the community. Candidates with prior work experience with Millennial and younger generations will be preferred. In addition to music selection, the contractor will coordinate and direct musicians, manage rehearsal preparations, and lead performance activities.

This role demands adherence to the practices associated with the Protestant Christian faith. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that adequate musical equipment such as microphones and sound systems are set up and taken down after each service. Additionally, the contractor will meet periodically with the Protestant and Catholic Service Chaplain to discuss the status of the music program to ensure it aligns with community needs.
