Pixies have released another new single, "Motoroller," ahead of their upcoming album, The Night The Zombies Came, set to release on October 25, 2024, via BMG. This marks the album's fourth preview following the earlier singles this year. The band’s frontman, Black Francis, describes "Motoroller" as a dynamic piece, intertwining themes associated with Berlin, where the inspiration for the song stems from. He encourages listeners to explore the lyrics for clues and stories but assures that detailed interpretation isn’t necessary to enjoy the track.

The forthcoming album arrives 35 years after their renowned 1989 album Doolittle, which achieved Platinum status. The new record promises to incorporate a range of eclectic influences, including Druidism, apocalyptic shopping environments, medieval themes, and nods to 1970s Fleetwood Mac, creating a layered sonic palette.

In conjunction with the new release, Pixies have announced a UK and European headline tour scheduled for April and May 2025. The tour consists of 20 shows, including two nights at London’s Brixton Academy. Tickets for these performances are set to go on sale starting 9 a.m. on September 20, 2024.
