Following the announcement of the 2024 Country Music Awards (CMAs) nominations, reactions have poured in regarding Beyonc's absence from the nomination list. Notably, Shaboozey, a rising star in the country music scene recognized for his breakout hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," took to social media to express gratitude towards Beyonc for her contributions to the genre. He stated, "Thank you @Beyonce for opening a door for us, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most innovative country albums of all time!" Shaboozey is nominated for Best New Artist and Single of the Year this year.

Beyonc's father, Matthew Knowles, also added his voice to the discussion. In comments to TMZ, he suggested that racial bias might have played a role in Beyonc not receiving any nominations. He emphasized that while he doesn't believe CMA voters are racist, the snub's implications are significant.

This discussion is further fueled by the fact that Beyonc made history earlier in the year as the first Black woman to achieve number one on the Country Billboard charts with her album "Cowboy Carter." Released in April, the album has received widespread acclaim, including a five-star review from NME.

As reactions continue, legendary singer Dionne Warwick also chimed in, calling the situation 'absolutely ridiculous' in a retweet regarding Beyonc's snub. Interestingly, this year's nominations included Post Malone, who has largely identified himself as a pop-rap artist, drawing mixed responses online. The 2024 CMAs are set to air on November 20 on ABC.
