In a significant shift for fans and followers, REO Speedwagon has announced that the band will cease touring effective January 1, 2025. The announcement cites irreconcilable differences between frontman Kevin Cronin and bassist Bruce Hall as the primary reason behind this decision. The band revealed their plans in a detailed post across their official social media platforms.

The last series of performances for REO Speedwagon will take place in North America, wrapping up with a final concert scheduled for November 23, 2024, at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. This decision follows a tumultuous summer tour alongside Train, during which the band faced challenges including canceled shows due to Cronin’s health issues. Hall had previously been absent from tour dates as he recuperated from back surgery, which contributed to the current strain within the group.

Hall expressed his heartbreak over the situation, emphasizing his commitment to the band and desire for a farewell tour. In his personal communication, he mentioned, “I am so appreciative of ALL the amazing love & support,” reiterating his frustration over not being able to return to the stage as planned. He further indicated his intention for the original lineup to continue touring together.

The band, in their public announcement, expressed gratitude towards their fans for the loyalty and support over the decades, highlighting the lasting memories created during their time together.

As the deadline approaches, REO Speedwagon prepares to close a significant chapter in their storied musical legacy while reflecting on nearly 50 years in the industry. For more details on their remaining tour dates, fans can visit REO Speedwagon’s official tour page.
