Schaumburg Township District Library is excited to announce an opening for the position of Teen Music Production Mentor, aimed at supporting its Youth Department. This part-time position offers candidates the opportunity to work for 3 hours a week, specifically from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Mondays from September to May, while earning a starting pay of $17 per hour.
As a Teen Music Production Mentor, the selected individual will collaborate with Dan Schnepf, the Teen Librarian, to facilitate various technological offerings within the library’s Innovation Hub. Candidates will guide teens in utilizing equipment for creative endeavors, such as 3D modeling and laser cutting, fostering their growth in maker skills. A focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is paramount, as the library aims to create an accessible environment for all patrons.
Successful candidates should be able to work well within a team, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and operate various library technologies. The role also involves promoting library programming and providing a welcoming atmosphere conducive to creativity and learning.
Candidates must be current high school juniors or seniors, or college students, with at least one year of experience in maker technologies. A valid Illinois driver's license is also required.
