The Cure has officially announced their upcoming album, Songs Of A Lost World, marking the band's first studio release in 16 years. Excitement surrounding the album was fueled earlier this week when a poster showcasing the album’s title was displayed at The Railway Inn in Crawley, England. This location holds historical significance for the band as it was the site of their debut performance in 1978. Reacting to the revelation, fans flocked to the pub following a tweet from Aaron Law, who shared an image of the framed poster on September 12.

In addition to the poster reveal, a fan meet-up is set for September 14, reflecting the heightened anticipation for the album. The Cure has also reached out to their fanbase through postcards that confirm both the album title and its scheduled release date of November 1.

On September 9, the band sparked speculation by updating their social media profiles with a new logo against a stark black background. Furthermore, guitarist Reeves Gabrels directed fans to their recently refurbished website, inviting them to subscribe to a mailing list for further updates regarding the album.

Additionally, fans can look forward to The Cure Novembre: Live in France 2022, a double A-side 12" Eco-Vinyl single featuring live recordings of And Nothing Is Forever and I Can Never Say Goodbye. This release is set to benefit the climate charity Earth Percent and was recorded during the band's Shows Of A Lost World tour.

The anticipation for The Cure's new material builds as fans reflect on the lengthy hiatus following the release of 2008's 4:13 Dream. The upcoming album is predicted to resonate with listeners, not only due to the new music but also because it signifies a return to their roots where it all began. More details can be found at NME.
