The Darkness have officially announced their eighth studio album, titled Dreams On Toast, which is set to be released in March 2025 through Cooking Vinyl. This marks their first full-length release since 2021's Motorheart. Fans can pre-order the album here.

In addition to the album announcement, The Darkness have unveiled the lead single, The Longest Kiss. The upbeat track showcases a '70s-inspired sound and comes from a place of inspiration that lead vocalist Justin Hawkins describes as life-changing. Hawkins reflected on the creative process, stating that the band aimed to draw from music that is historically impactful. “We knuckled down and thought really hard about the best of the best,” Hawkins commented, humorously noting that the process resulted in a dozen excellent tracks before lunchtime.

As part of their promotional efforts for the new album, The Darkness will embark on a extensive UK tour in 2025, which will include 17 dates across various cities. The tour is set to kick off on March 7 at the Regent's Theatre in Ipswich and will conclude with a notable performance at the OVO Arena Wembley in London on March 29. Notably, Ash will support on this tour, repeating a collaboration that dates back over 20 years since their 'Permission To Land Tour'.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale starting September 27, and fans who pre-order Dreams On Toast will gain access to a pre-sale opportunity. For a full list of tour dates and more information, check this link.

This album follows a recent resurgence in The Darkness’ popularity, particularly after their hit track I Believe In A Thing Called Love reached number one, spurred by Taylor Swift’s enthusiastic singing of the song with Travis Kelce at a recent event. Hawkins expressed gratitude for this renewed interest, underscoring the enduring appeal of their music.
