Thin Lizzy Launches Animated Video for Classic Track
A new animated video for Thin Lizzy's iconic 1976 single "Jailbreak" has officially premiered. The visualizer pays homage to Jim Fitzpatrick's legendary cover art associated with the album of the same name. This release coincides with the upcoming remixed editions of both the Jailbreak and Johnny The Fox albums, which are set to hit the market on September 28, 2024.

Alongside the visual presentation, the latest issue of Classic Rock magazine features a cover story that reflects on the legacy of Jailbreak. Guitarist Scott Gorham, who contributed to the band's early success, shared insights regarding the production of the album. Gorham noted the pressure the band faced, stating, "Our first two albums were dismal failures. For the third, Jailbreak, we literally had everyone saying to us: ‘You’d better do it on this one or there’s the door.’"
This creative materialization comes with the announcement of a comprehensive 5CD+Blu-ray box set titled 1976, which will include not only the original and newly mixed versions of the albums but also a collection of outtakes and live performances captured during the band's early tours.
Jailbreak, which was first released in August 1976, notably reached number 31 on the UK charts and has been covered by various artists, enhancing its enduring legacy.
