Pioneering electronic dance music group Utah Saints are set to reissue their seminal self-titled debut album, originally released over 30 years ago, on October 19, 2024, coinciding with National Album Day. This re-release will be available on Vinyl 2LP, 2CD, and digital streaming platforms (DSPs). The album has undergone audio remastering and will include B-sides and rare tracks, ensuring the original work’s legacy continues.
Formed in Leeds in 1991, Utah Saints, comprised of Jez Willis and Tim Garbutt, were integral to the evolution of electronic dance music. Their debut single "What Can You Do for Me," which features samples from Eurythmics and Gwen Guthrie, quickly garnered attention after being showcased by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. The track's success paved the way for the band’s first album, which peaked at Top 10 in the UK charts and spawned hits such as "Something Good" and "Believe in Me."
In terms of their live presence, Utah Saints are scheduled to perform several shows across the UK this autumn, including a sold-out headline performance at the 100 Club in London on September 14, 2024. The complete list of performances includes stops in Folkestone, North Devon, and more, culminating in a series of exciting dance events along the way.
The format of the album includes a special limited edition, which features a variety of reworks and remixes from influential figures in the electronic scene, like David Morales and Andrew Weatherall. This reissue aims not just to celebrate the band's milestone but also to continue promoting electronic dance music’s innovative spirit.
