Teesside-based duo Benefits has made a significant return with their latest single, "Land of the Tyrants," featuring vocals from Zera Tnin of Arch Femmesis. This track represents their first new music since their debut album "NAILS" was released over a year ago in April 2023. The transition to a duo, consisting now of Kingsley Hall and Robbie Major, marks a notable change for the band from their previous lineup.

"Land of the Tyrants" showcases a different sonic approach compared to the intensity of "NAILS." Kingsley Hall commented on the new direction, stating that while their songs and perspectives remain rooted in anger, the execution will differ, indicating a more innovative take on punk aesthetics. The single also comes with a newly released music video directed by John Kirkbride, which draws inspiration from the 1980s film "The Long Good Friday." In a light-hearted commentary on the video production, Hall remarked on their failed yet amusing attempts to channel Bob Hoskins and Pierce Brosnan.

Fans can check out the imaginative video followed by upcoming tour dates in support of Arab Strap in Glasgow this weekend. The duo will continue their schedule across various venues, including stops in Huddersfield, Lancaster, and Edinburgh, culminating in performances at the Airwaves festival in Iceland in November. For those looking to catch them live, ticket details are available on their official page.

This single marks an exciting chapter for Benefits as they evolve their sound and continue to engage with their audience through live performances and creative expression.
