On September 17, 2024, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential candidacy in celebration of National Voter Registration Day. The siblings utilized their official Instagram account to urge fans to participate in the upcoming election by voting early and checking their registration status via Iwillvote.com. Finneas emphasized the importance of voting, stating, "We can't let extremists control our lives, our freedoms, and our future."

Billie reiterated this sentiment, urging followers to act as if their lives depend on it. They specifically expressed support not only for Harris but also for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, highlighting their commitment to protecting reproductive rights, environmental issues, and democratic integrity.

This is not the first time Eilish and Finneas have advocated for political involvement. In the lead-up to the previous presidential election in 2020, Billie initiated a campaign encouraging fans to register to vote, which provided an easy method to check registration statuses via text.

Joining them in the campaign for Harris are several other prominent musicians. Taylor Swift recently endorsed Harris on Instagram, praising her leadership qualities and urging fans to register to vote. Similarly, Stevie Nicks voiced her support, calling for voters to research candidates that align with their values.

In a related matter, The White Stripes are suing Donald Trump over his unauthorized usage of their song "Seven Nation Army" in a campaign post, expressing their opposition to his previous presidential policies. Meanwhile, Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes recently shared his thoughts on the 2024 election, expressing confidence in Harris’ potential candidacy.

As the lobbying for support continues, a wave of musicians weighs in, reinforcing the significance of voting and civic responsibility during this pivotal election.
