The Body Movements festival took place last Sunday in Southwark Park, marking its first outing in a new location since its 2021 debut. The festival, known for celebrating queer culture and music, has expanded in size, moving from its original multi-venue home in East London to a more spacious park setting that enhances the festival atmosphere.

Arriving at the festival, attendees were greeted by five distinct stages, each adorned with curated artworks from The Queer Archive. The largest stage, named Mother, set the tone for a vibrant day ahead. Other outdoor stages included The Snatch and The Strap, the latter decorated in the colors of the trans flag, alongside two smaller indoor tents: Hot Mess and Glory Hole.

Festival highlights started early, with sets from DJs such as Goh Well and Sippin' T, who showcased a variety of genres ranging from deep house to drum & bass. As the day unfolded, the lineup included performances from Aurora Halal, Manuka Honey, COBRAH, and co-founder Saoirse, all contributing to the sonic diversity that Body Movements is known for.

LSDXOXO performed a thrilling live show featuring tracks from his recently released EP "Delusions Of Grandeur". His set built to a climactic moment when he infused his hit "Sick Bitch" with Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction", igniting the crowd into a frenzy.

In addition, FAFF closed out the festival at the Glory Hole stage with a set that included techno and UK garage tracks, creating a lively atmosphere that echoed throughout the tent. With ample relaxation spaces, good sound across the venue, and a connected crowd, this year's festival reaffirmed Body Movements' commitment to celebrating queer culture through music and community.
