Two women, Jahzeen Carpenter, 39, and Nadine Taylor, 44, have been charged with assisting an offender in connection to the murder of Cody Fisher at Birmingham nightclub Crane on Boxing Day, 2022. These women are the mother and aunt respectively of Kami Carpenter, who was convicted for his role in the murder. The charges were filed before magistrates on September 10, and both women have been released on bail, with their next court appearance scheduled for October 8 at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Cody Fisher, who was 23 at the time of his death, was a non-league footballer and school sports coach. He was fatally stabbed with a zombie knife during a late-night incident involving a group of masked assailants. In March, Kami Carpenter along with Remy Gordon, 23, were found guilty of murder, while a third suspect, 19-year-old Reegan Anderson, was found guilty of affray but not guilty of murder.

Following the convictions, Birmingham's Nighttime Economy Ambassador Lyle Bignon spoke about the safety measures in place within the city's nightlife community, emphasizing the commitment to public safety in clubs and late-night venues. The incident has had a significant effect on the local community and raises ongoing concerns about safety in nightlife areas within Birmingham.
