Community Presbyterian Church of Clarendon Hills is looking for a Church Musician to join their team in a part-time capacity. This role is integral to their worship services, which take place on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and during special occasions like Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve. Key responsibilities include selecting music for prelude, offertory, and postlude, leading congregational hymn singing, and accompanying the Chancel Choir during rehearsals and services.
Candidates are expected to have extensive knowledge of liturgical music, especially for piano and organ. The musician will work closely with the Director of Music Ministries and church pastors to ensure the music aligns with the seasonal themes of worship, such as Lent and Easter.
Instruments available for use include a Martin Ott tracker pipe organ, a Yamaha concert grand piano, and a Roland keyboard. The selected candidate will have the right of first refusal for performances at weddings and funerals.
