In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, David noted, "I've been working for a long, long time on a new project and September 27 is the date of release, so I would love everyone to stay tuned."
In this upcoming solo project, David hinted at a significant sound change, suggesting his work will differ from his previous effort with Måneskin. He stated, "There's going to be a lot of new things," but also reassured fans that the band remains his priority, emphasizing, "The band is great. We are going to work on stuff. Nothing is going to change."
Fellow band member, Victoria De Angelis, also addressed rumors of a potential breakup from the VMAs stage. De Angelis is set to release her solo single titled Get Up Bitch (Shake Ya Ass), featuring Brazilian star Anitta. Both artists are focusing on their personal projects while affirming their commitment to Måneskin.
