During the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held on September 11 in Elmont, New York, Damiano David, the lead vocalist of the Italian rock band Måneskin, announced details of his much-anticipated solo album, which is slated for release on September 27, 2024. In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, David noted, "I've been working for a long, long time on a new project and September 27 is the date of release, so I would love everyone to stay tuned."

David also hinted at a significant sound change, suggesting that his solo work will diverge from his previous efforts with Måneskin. He stated, "There's going to be a lot of new things," while emphasizing that Måneskin remains his priority. "The band is great. We are going to work on stuff. Nothing is going to change," he assured fans.

In addition to David's announcement, fellow band member Victoria De Angelis took to the VMAs stage to address rumors about a potential breakup following the band's recent tour. De Angelis is also on the verge of releasing her solo single titled Get Up Bitch (Shake Ya Ass), which features Brazilian star Anitta. Both artists are focusing on their personal projects while remaining committed to Måneskin.

David further stirred excitement among fans by teasing a possible new single or album through an Instagram monologue, stating, "I travelled all around the world to find my voice, just to end up where everything's started."

Måneskin's last album, Rush, debuted in 2023 and received a mix of reviews but was praised for its dynamic live performances. As anticipation builds for both Damiano David's and Victoria De Angelis's solo endeavors, the band's impact on the music scene continues to be felt strongly.
