David Gilmour's latest album, Luck And Strange, is poised to debut at No. 1 on the UK albums chart this week. As of now, the album has sold 26,362 copies, with an impressive 23,425 of those in physical formats. Additionally, download sales contribute 2,258, while digital streaming accounts for 679 copies sold.

In the current standings of the UK charts, Gilmour's album is leading ahead of Sabrina Carpenter's release, Short N' Sweet, which has sold 13,783 copies. Furthermore, Oasis is making its presence felt in a significant way by occupying three positions within the top five: Time Flies 1994-2009 sits at third place with 8,952 sales, Definitely Maybe is fourth with 7,698, and another Oasis album completes the top five.

This week's contemporary album rankings highlight a competitive and dynamic market for music sales. Gilmour’s robust physical sales further underscore the lasting appeal of tangible music formats, despite the industry's shift towards streaming.
