East Carolina University (ECU) is looking to fill the position of Sound Designer/Collaborative Musician for the School of Theatre and Dance. This job is centered around collaboration and aims to benefit both the students and the broader ECU community. The successful candidate will take on various responsibilities, including serving as a Sound Designer and Sound Technician for productions at the ECU/Loessin Playhouse, where student performances take place.

The position breaks down into production responsibilities, teaching responsibilities, and collaborative musician duties. Specifically, 45% of the role will focus on production, which involves sound design for both the School of Theatre and Dance and for student presentations. Teaching will comprise 20% of the duties, where the selected candidate will educate Design and Production Majors and Minors in Sound Design courses. The remaining 35% will involve serving as a musical accompanist for dance classes, fostering an important relationship between music and dance.

Applicants are required to have a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sound Design.
