Emerging Dutch artist GINGE has officially released her debut album, 'Playing Around,' which showcases a mix of alt-pop, neo-soul, and contemporary R&B. The album reflects GINGE's artistic growth, marking a significant step in her career after a series of well-received singles and earlier EPs, including 'Belly' and 'Bummer'.
Throughout her career, GINGE has made her mark by performing at key showcase events in the Netherlands and beyond, notably at the Groningen-rooted festival ESNS. Her vibrant performances have played a crucial role in garnering attention both domestically and internationally. The new album consolidates her previous work, merging various musical strands into what she describes as a "poppy neo-soul bubble with some R&B."
With tracks characterized by lively songwriting and a whimsical approach to themes of love and attachment, GINGE expresses her desire for her music to be lighter and more playful. She notes, "Making this album has really been a playground in itself. It has become a playful yet intimate exploration..."
