Jamie xx has reunited with his fellow The xx bandmates, Romy and Oliver Sim, for a new single titled "Waiting All Night." This track will feature on Jamie's upcoming album, "In Waves," set for release on September 20, 2024. This is Jamie's first full-length solo album since 2015's "In Colour."

"Waiting All Night" marks the first collaboration between the three musicians since The xx's album, "I See You," released in 2017. The song showcases their signature sound, incorporating elements of UK garage and highlighting Sim's and Romy's understated vocals as they explore themes of unrequited love. Speaking on the collaboration, Jamie xx expressed gratitude towards Sim and Romy, calling them his "two best friends and musical siblings."

This release follows the unveiling of three prior singles from "In Waves": "Baddy On The Floor" featuring Honey Dijon, "Treat Each Other Right," and "Life" featuring Robyn. Ahead of the album release, music publication NME provided a four-star review of "In Waves," describing it as a more complex work compared to its predecessor.

Earlier this year, at Glastonbury 2024, The xx reunited on stage during Jamie's set, where they debuted "Waiting All Night" live. Romy confirmed during an interview that The xx has been in the studio preparing new material, adding that their separate solo projects have enriched their upcoming collaborations as they endeavor to merge their individual experiences.

Meanwhile, Romy has announced three headline shows in the UK celebrating the one-year anniversary of her debut solo album. Sim also shared his debut solo project, "Hideous Bastard," in 2022, which earned critical acclaim. With all three members continuing to explore their artistry, fans are eagerly anticipating both Jamie's new album and The xx's upcoming projects.
