Tufts Medical Center is seeking a qualified Music Therapist to join their dynamic team. The position focuses on assessing the needs of patients with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities and delivering therapy services aimed at improving their developmental, physical, or cognitive skills. This role involves conducting assessments and administering sound/music therapy interventions to pediatric inpatients and adult psychiatric patients, in compliance with the American Music Therapy Association's standards.
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy and have CBMT Board Certification. While a Master’s degree and three years of experience in a healthcare setting are preferred, entry-level candidates with relevant education are also encouraged to apply.
The Music Therapist will lead one-on-one and group therapy sessions, establish effective relationships with patients ranging from neonates to adults, and contribute to the holistic needs of the patients and their families. The successful candidate will also have responsibilities in quality improvement activities and research related to service delivery and therapy effectiveness.
