The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), a prestigious multi-disciplinary arts center located in Brooklyn, New York, is looking for a dedicated Attendant Guard to join their team. With a rich history spanning over 150 years, BAM is known for its adventurous programming in various art forms, including theater, dance, music, opera, and film. The selected candidate will work closely with the Supervising Attendant Guard and Security Manager to ensure the safety of BAM's KBH Building.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring a safe environment for all BAM employees, visitors, and vendors.
- Conducting security investigations and creating incident reports.
- Serving as the Fire and Life Safety Director, as needed.
- Patrolling the KBH building and controlling access.
- Protecting exhibits and addressing security vulnerabilities.
Candidates should possess a New York State Security Guard License, and experience in a performing arts or museum setting is preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, along with a strong customer service orientation.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary of $37,440 per year, and employees are eligible for benefits after a probationary period. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility required for events and emergencies.
