Extreme has unveiled a new video for their song "Save Me," marking the ninth visual release from their latest album, "SIX," which debuted in June 2023 through earMUSIC. Following earlier singles such as "Rise" and "Beautiful Girls," the new video adds another layer of complexity to the band’s ongoing creative journey while showcasing their musical diversity.

The video for "Save Me" was crafted by SIMPLEXITY PICTURES, the same team that has directed previous clips for the album. Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and director Rene Rigal worked together to convey the heavy psychological themes presented in the song. Bettencourt described the claustrophobic atmosphere of the video as a representation of the inner turmoil many individuals face, likening it to the "voices in your heads." In discussing the video, he stated, "It was important to shoot like this to create a lack of oxygen in a black void... to visually put across the psychological battle of whispers and screams we have all dealt with in coping with life's challenges."

Vocalist Gary Cherone’s lyrics navigate complex emotions, with lines such as "Save me from myself / save me from this hell" encapsulating the struggle highlighted in the song. The concluding segment of the video culminates in a dramatic crescendo highlighting Bettencourt's signature guitar solo, reinforcing the underlying message of hope amid despair: "YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There is always someone to call when all seems hopeless."
