Fontaines D.C. have voiced their concerns regarding the imminent reunion of Britpop band Oasis, who recently announced plans for a world tour in 2025. The tour will include a number of sold-out stadium shows across major cities including Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Initial reports indicate that the first 14 tour dates have sold out swiftly, prompting the addition of extra performances in London for September 2025.

In a candid interview with Studio Brussel, Conor Deegan III and Carlos O'Connell from Fontaines D.C. shared their discontent with the overwhelming nostalgia surrounding Oasis's return. O'Connell candidly stated, "I couldn't really give a shit, to be honest." Deegan further elaborated, expressing that the band feels restricted by a nostalgic cycle that detracts from their drive to produce innovative music.

Fontaines D.C. initially rose to prominence with their debut album, "Dogrel," but their recent project, "Romance," reflects a conscious effort to navigate new creative pathways. The Irish band members underscored their disappointment with the timing of Oasis's reunion, wishing instead to concentrate on forward-thinking projects rather than revisiting past glories.

As they prepare for their own major performances this year, including an extensive UK and Ireland headline tour, Fontaines D.C. will also host an outdoor concert at London's Finsbury Park in July 2025. The event will feature support from bands such as Amyl And The Sniffers and Kneecap. This strategic focus illustrates Fontaines D.C.'s commitment to evolving their sound while attempting to break free from the limitations of nostalgia.
