In a recent interview aired on Studio Brussel, Conor Deegan III and Carlos O'Connell from the Irish rock band Fontaines D.C. shared their perspectives on the highly anticipated reunion of Britpop legends Oasis, set to take place in 2025. The global tour will include numerous performances across major cities such as Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, with the initial 14 tour dates already sold out. In response to the demand, Oasis has added additional shows in London for September 2025.

Deegan III and O'Connell did not shy away from expressing their frustrations regarding the surge of nostalgia that accompanies the reunion announcement. O'Connell notably stated, "I couldn't really give a shit, to be honest," highlighting a growing discontent within the music industry about the continual emphasis on legacy acts. Deegan supported this viewpoint, suggesting that the focus on established artists could hinder creative opportunities for newer bands like Fontaines D.C.

Known for their debut album "Dogrel," Fontaines D.C. is evolving with their latest project titled "Romance." This release emphasizes the band's artistic growth and commitment to contemporary sounds that diverge from the nostalgia they criticize.

Looking ahead, Fontaines D.C. is set for a busy 2025, including a significant concert at London’s Finsbury Park in July which will feature support from Amyl And The Sniffers and Kneecap. This lineup underscores the band's intention to cultivate a vibrant musical identity that challenges prevailing nostalgic trends.
