Fontaines D.C. have publicly aired their grievances following the announcement of Britpop legends Oasis's upcoming reunion and world tour scheduled for 2025. This highly anticipated return for the iconic band is set to span several sold-out stadiums in major cities, including Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Reports indicate that the initial 14 tour dates sold out swiftly, prompting the addition of more shows in London, slated for September 2025.

In a recent interview on Studio Brussel, band members Conor Deegan III and Carlos O'Connell did not hold back their feelings about the overwhelming sense of nostalgia that Oasis's reunion has ignited. O'Connell stated bluntly, "I couldn't really give a shit, to be honest," revealing a palpable frustration with the music industry's fixation on reminiscing about past eras. Deegan echoed this sentiment, suggesting that the ongoing nostalgia surrounding legacy acts obstructs their own creative impulses and aspirations to innovate.

Fontaines D.C., who made waves with their debut album "Dogrel," have since released a new project titled "Romance," which they believe reflects a commitment to artistic evolution. The members emphasized their preference for contemporary sounds over being pigeonholed into nostalgia-driven trends.

The band is also preparing for extensive performances this year, including a headline tour across the UK and Ireland. A notable event is their scheduled concert at London's Finsbury Park in July 2025, which will feature support from Amyl And The Sniffers and Kneecap. This initiative reinforces their dedication to cultivating an evolving artistic identity, counteracting the nostalgia they critique.
