Franz Ferdinand, the acclaimed Scottish rock band, has announced the release of their brand new single titled 'Audacious'. This highly anticipated track is set to launch on September 11, 2024. The band shared the news via a video teaser, featuring Julian Victor Corrie, better known as Miaoux Miaoux, their keyboard and synthesizer player, who is seen expressing surprise at something off-screen.

Fans can pre-save 'Audacious' ahead of its release here.

After a six-year gap since their last full-length album, 'Always Ascending' (2018), this release seems to signal the band’s return to the music scene. That album received a four-star review from NME, noting the blend of synths and guitars, emphasizing a more dance-oriented sound.

Franz Ferdinand is also reportedly planning to release a new album in the near future. Earlier in 2024, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, which included hits like 'Take Me Out' and won the Mercury Music Prize. To commemorate the occasion, they reissued the album on colored vinyl.

In addition to their new music, Franz Ferdinand has announced a series of live shows in Scotland scheduled for late September. The dates are:

  • September 26: Spa Pavilion, Strathpeffer
  • September 27: Albert Halls, Stirling
  • September 28: The Venue, Dumfries

Tickets for these shows can be found on various ticket platforms.

Fans of the band will be eager to see how 'Audacious' fits into their evolving sound and what the future holds for Franz Ferdinand.
