Gene Simmons, the iconic bassist of KISS, has recently shared his opinion on Linkin Park's new lead vocalist, Emily Armstrong, during a conversation with Forbes. Armstrong's appointment follows the tragic passing of Chester Bennington in July 2017. Simmons expressed his approval of the decision, commenting, "It's great. I listened. I saw some videos. The new female singer, great. She fits the band. She sounds great and good luck to them."

Critics and some fans have raised questions regarding the choice of a female vocalist, but Simmons dismissed these concerns by stating, "In rock and roll, there are no rules." He referenced other bands that have persisted despite line-up changes, including Genesis and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Simmons stated, "People want to hear those songs. Why not?"

In addition to discussing Armstrong's role, Simmons also addressed the controversy surrounding her alleged ties to the Church of Scientology and previous support of actor Danny Masterson, currently a controversial figure due to recent convictions. Simmons, who has studied Scientology, remarked on the matter, "I get it. I understand and have read deeply into that. I'm not a follower, but good luck. Life is short. Believe whatever you want, worship a rock or an alien, whatever floats your boat."

He continued, highlighting the more substantial public support that can drive ticket sales regardless of specifics about the individuals involved, adding, "so if they — and they will — sell lots of tickets, Linkin Park, then the public has spoken. End of story."

Armstrong herself has addressed the allegations against Masterson, clarifying her past involvement as a misguided choice and expressing empathy for the victims of abuse. She stated, "I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes."

The recent interviews and statements have not only fueled discussions about Linkin Park's future but have also amplified the ongoing narrative surrounding celebrity endorsements and personal histories in the public eye.
