Fontaines D.C. have expressed their frustrations regarding the recent announcement of Britpop band Oasis's planned reunion, which includes a world tour set for 2025. The reunion comes as the iconic band prepares to perform at various sold-out stadiums across major cities, including Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. According to reports, the first 14 tour dates sold out rapidly, leading to an expansion of London shows scheduled for September 2025.

In a candid discussion on Studio Brussel, band members Conor Deegan III and Carlos O'Connell voiced their discontent with the wave of nostalgia that Oasis's return has stirred. O'Connell bluntly stated, "I couldn't really give a shit, to be honest," showcasing their frustration with the ongoing fixation on past musical eras. Deegan also weighed in, indicating that the nostalgic atmosphere surrounding the reunion acts as a hindrance to their creative output and desire to innovate.

Fontaines D.C., whose ascent began with their debut album "Dogrel," have recently released a new project titled "Romance," which they feel showcases their intent to pursue creative growth. The band's members articulated that they prefer to focus on contemporary and future sounds rather than being boxed into the nostalgic tendencies of the music industry.

They are gearing up for their own significant performances this year, which include a headline tour across the UK and Ireland. Additionally, Fontaines D.C. will host a concert at London's Finsbury Park in July 2025, featuring support from bands such as Amyl And The Sniffers and Kneecap. This move highlights their commitment to evolving their artistic identity in response to the nostalgia that they critique.
