In a recent interview with Forbes, KISS bassist Gene Simmons expressed his candid views on the backlash regarding the ticket pricing for Oasis's upcoming reunion shows. Fans have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with dynamic pricing, a practice utilized by Ticketmaster that adjusts ticket prices based on demand.

Simmons did not hold back, stating that fans who criticize the ticket prices are "entitled to fuck off," asserting that the market's supply and demand ultimately governs pricing. He argued, "If you don't want to pay that amount, don't go," and noted that the pricing scheme is about figuring out how far the ‘rubber band can stretch.’

The discussion around Oasis's ticket pricing emerged after the announcement of Liam and Noel Gallagher's reunion, their first in 16 years. Despite the overwhelming demand leading to a swift sell-out of tickets, the sale process was marred with issues - many fans were unable to purchase tickets due to a crash on Ticketmaster, long queues, and dynamic price increases.

Industry reactions have varied, with criticism from pundits like Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy, who has called for a review of dynamic pricing practices. Additionally, ticketing platform Twickets reversed its policy to cap booking fees after facing public outrage, while artists like Robert Smith from The Cure were commended for their efforts in maintaining affordable ticket prices before met with similar concerns.

Oasis has since responded to the situation, ensuring that they are distancing themselves from the price hikes and are set to introduce stricter sales rules for additional shows at Wembley Stadium.

Gene Simmons also expressed admiration for the Gallagher brothers, remarking on the effective marketing strategies that accompany such high-stakes tours. He reflected on the dynamics of successful musical relationships, comparing the Gallaghers to iconic partnerships in rock history.

As the dust settles on the ticketing chaos, it remains to be seen how Oasis’s loyal fanbase will navigate the next round of ticketing, especially under the new regulations planned for their additional Wembley engagements.
