Green Day's recent concert at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI, was interrupted when a drone flew into the stadium during their performance. The incident occurred on September 6, while the band was playing "Longview," the fifth song of their set. Disturbing footage captured the moment the band was rushed offstage by their crew, raising immediate safety concerns. After a brief 10-minute pause, Green Day returned to perform the remaining 37 songs of their set, part of the celebration for the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Dookie.

The Detroit Police Department confirmed that an individual operating the drone was detained outside the concert venue, although their identity has not been disclosed. Video from attendees highlighted the tension in the moment, with one bystander recalling that Billie Joe Armstrong looked frightened as he and the band swiftly exited the stage. Fans on social media expressed their shock, noting how quickly security responded to the potential threat.

Authorities are investigating the situation, and the case has been referred to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is responsible for regulating drone operations in the United States. Green Day’s tour will continue with their next show scheduled for Coors Field in Denver, CO, on September 7. More details about upcoming dates can be found here.
