Hackedepicciotto, the innovative duo of Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto, have announced their upcoming album titled The Best of hackedepicciotto (Live in Napoli), featuring a selection of live performances recorded over their 20-year career. Scheduled for release on November 1, 2024, the album will be available on double vinyl—limited to 500 copies complete with an exclusive signed print—and digitally via Mute Records.

The duo's new collection, classified as Symphonic Drone, blends industrial beats, electronic sounds, classical harmonies, throat singing, Hurdy-gurdy music, and spoken word. Daniel Miller of Mute identifies hackedepicciotto's unique sound as a genre in itself, emphasizing its innovative nature.

Listeners can get a preview with 'The Silver Threshold (Live in Napoli)', which is the title track from their 2021 release. The forthcoming album includes reinterpretations from several of their studio projects, encompassing Keepsakes (2023), The Silver Threshold (2021), Perseverantia (2016), Menetekel (2017), and The Current (2020).

Hackedepicciotto has been a dynamic creative force since their inception, with Hacke having started his journey in music at age 14 and later joining the influential band Einstrzende Neubauten. De Picciotto co-founded the Berlin Love Parade and has always pushed boundaries within electronic music. Together, they have developed an artistic partnership characterized by exploration and expansive creativity.

To complement the album release, hackedepicciotto will embark on a series of live performances in cities across Europe including Parma, Lyon, and Athens, with their album release party scheduled at Berghain Kantine, Berlin, on December 18, 2024. For details, check Mute Records.
