Northern VA Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Music Recording Technology department. This part-time position is located at Loudoun - 107 and is exempt from FLSA. The starting salary will be commensurate based on the instructor level, education, and experience.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for planning and teaching courses to students from various academic backgrounds, using face-to-face, remote, and online formats. Faculty can teach up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring semesters and up to 8 credit hours in summer. It is important to note that there is no expectation of continued employment as part of the adjunct contract.

Key duties include teaching specific classes, developing course syllabi, maintaining records, assessing student progress, and adhering to the policies of NOVA and the VCCS. Faculty members are expected to maintain competence in their field and regularly meet assigned classes.

Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor’s degree in the teaching field or an Associate’s degree with demonstrated competencies, along with two years of related full-time occupational experience. Preferred qualifications include professional experience in large recording studios and proficiency in industry-standard music software like Pro Tools, Logic Audio, and Ableton.
